FAQs
How long should I be taking lessons for?
It really depends on what your need is. If you are a performer, then you should be taking lessons on a regular basis (ideally one hour per week) as long as you are singing. If you are a beginner, I would recommend committing to a minimum of 8 lessons to begin to grasp the technique. Again, this comes back to what you want to get out of your singing lessons. I'd love to discuss your needs and goals. What should I expect from a lesson? In your first lesson, I would firstly diagnose your voice to figure out what your tendency is. Next we'll work on singing exercises that are specifically designed to meet your needs for roughly 15-20 minutes. Then, for the remainder of the lesson, we will apply what you've learned to a song. What should I prepare for my first lesson? Make sure you come with healthy vocal cords. For example: try avoiding food/drinks that contains dairy products, have enough rest beforehand, avoid smoking, drink enough water, etc. If you have a smartphone, come prepared to record the lesson with a voice memo app so you can have a recording of your lesson that you can use to rehearse with during the week. Also, a bottle of water would be a good idea to bring. Try to think of a song or two that you'd like to sing. Do you offer group classes? No I don't - however I don't mind when two students would like to come together however I need to work on each voice separately because no voice is the same. |
Who could benefit from singing lessons?
Anyone! You could be preparing a song for a public performances (weddings, concerts, church), for a HSC performance, to surprise a loved one (i.e. proposal, birthdays), or simply for a karaoke session with your family and friends. What is your availability? I teach on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 3.30-8.30pm. If these days do not suit me, please call me to arrange a time that would work for the both of us. How much do the lessons cost? $40 for a 30-minute session $60 for a 45-minute session $75 for a 60-minute session How should I pay for my lesson? Normally, students would pay with cash straight after the lesson is finished. However, you also have the option of paying via bank transfer. Please ask me for my bank account details prior to the lesson and make the transfer before your lesson if you choose this option. I would highly encourage the students to purchase the bundle saver which gives you a 10% discount and valid for 6 months. That way, you don't have to worry to bring cash each lesson. Do you give discounts or special rate? I have a BUNDLE SAVER option where you pay for 10x30minute lessons for $400, 9x45minute lessons for $540 & 8x60-minute lessons for $600 and get 1x60-minute lesson free. Do you provide opportunities for me to sing? Yes - I do! I highly encourage students to sing in front of people as that's the best way for you to grow as a singer.
